Company Introduction
FateTell(AuraAI Limited), founded in 2024, is an innovative AI company that merges ancient Eastern metaphysics with modern large-language-model (LLM) technology.
Our mission is to deliver intelligent fate analysis that guides users toward inner balance and a deeper understanding of their life path. Embracing "cultural globalization," we leverage AI to share traditional Chinese philosophy and Eastern culture with the world.
Timeline
A hacking competition brought a few of us young people together in 2023. We connected over our shared struggles of giving our all and still falling short. This led to us getting to know and appreciate one another. With "Cyber God of Fortune" as our starting point, we began exploring how to use advanced technology to refresh traditional Eastern wisdom.

As the team grew in 2024, our understanding of destiny deepened. We started an internal beta for our web version and officially launched our flagship product, "FateBook" This 20,000-character report doesn't just give results; it provides an in-depth, detailed process, helping users understand not only what their destiny is, but why.
After the Lunar New Year in 2025, we were finalists for the first Xiaohongshu Independent Developer Competition for Best AI Project. We gained the attention and affection of tens of thousands of users and were covered by multiple global media outlets, including the Hong Kong Economic Journal, MIT Technology Review, Fenghuang Weekly, Caijing Magazine, and 36Kr. But even before all this happened, we had already seen the subtle hints of our destiny through our own fate charts.

Our Team
FateTell's team is a diverse group with a wide range of backgrounds. Some of us come from top universities and well-known corporations, while others are from smaller colleges and startups. We even have members who have taken gap years or had to delay their graduation. These varied experiences have shaped us into who we are today. We're open about our past, grounded in the present, and focused on the future, without romanticizing the paths we haven't taken. Our team is also globally distributed. Most of us in China are based in the Yangtze River Delta region, while others are located in Southeast Asia and North America. For many of us, this is not our first startup venture.
Founder & CEO
Levy Cheng is a graduate of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with extensive professional experience. He previously served as the COO of Lanternfish, a company that used AI to help law firms reduce time and labor costs. He was also a Product Manager for ByteDance's Lark product. More recently, he has pioneered the application of large AI models in Chinese cultural studies and the broader field of psychology.
FateTell's goal is not to have people fall into an emotional abyss and blindly rely on others' interpretations. Instead, we want you to Be Your Own Fate Teller and light your own path forward. We believe that the exploration of one's self and destiny has been a crucial part of human spiritual and cultural life since ancient times. Interpreting destiny, therefore, is a way to help people achieve self-awareness and self-realization.
Integrating Traditional Expertise with AI
FateTell launched in late December 2024 with no marketing spend and has grown to over 15,000 registered users through word of mouth alone. The integration of AI has propelled the fortune-telling industry into its next era, overcoming long-standing challenges such as limited practitioner availability and uneven expertise. Leveraging our advanced technology and product design, FateTell maintains professional rigor while keeping hallucination rates relatively low, and simultaneously fosters positive emotional engagement and genuine user comfort.
Eastern divination is a specialized service built on a rigorous chain of reasoning, making it inherently well-suited for enhancement by advanced inference models. Our technology draws on the deep domain expertise of renowned fate analysts and is underpinned by extensive, specialized datasets. Working closely with these experts, we build comprehensive knowledge graphs and develop refined algorithms. We then produce meticulously annotated, human-generated chain-of-thought datasets that serve as the essential foundation for model distillation and fine-tuning.
We aim to deliver a positive user experience by prioritizing emotional value over fear tactics, proactively engaging our users, and offering genuine companionship. To that end, we've rigorously developed the AI agnet's linguistic assets and engineered a polished, intuitive interface. We also provide natural conversational sessions with AI-powered fate analysts, multimodal explanations (text-to-image and text-to-video), and specialized modules for matchmaking, job seeking, college-entrance exams, career planning, and more.
